Lancaster University ก่อตั้งเมื่อปี 1964 ตั้งอยู่ทางตะวันตกเฉียงเหนือของประเทศอังกฤษ ใกล้กับเมืองสำคัญ ๆ ของแมนเชสเตอร์และลิเวอร์พูล มหาวิทยาลัยที่มีชื่อเสียงด้านนวัตกรรม งานวิจัย และมีชื่อเสียงทางด้านหลักสูตรที่ยืดหยุ่น โดยนักศึกษาสามารถเลือกเรียนวิชาโทและสาขาวิชาเฉพาะทางได้ตั้งแต่ศึกษาอยู่ในชั้นปีที่ 1 ก่อนที่เข้าสู่การเรียนวิชาหลักในปีที่ 2 และ ปีที่ 3
