University of Manchester แต่เดิมเป็น สถาบันกลศาสตร์แมนเชสเตอร์ ปี 1824 ได้รับการสถาปนาปี2004 เป็นมหาวิทยาลัย Single-Site University ที่ใหญ่ที่สุด UK ตั้งอยู่เมืองแมนเชสเตอร์ และเป็นสมาชิกของ Russell Group มหาวิทยาลัยมีทั้งศิษย์เก่าและศิษย์ปัจจุบันที่ชนะรางวัลโนเบลถึง 25 รางวัลในสาขาฟิสิกส์, 9 รางวัลสาขาเคมี, 3 รางวัลสาขาสรีรวิทยา / การแพทย์ และ 3 รางวัลสาขาเศรษฐศาสตร์ อีกทั้งยังถูกจัดอันดับให้เป็นมหาวิทยาลัยที่บริษัทต้องการจ้างงานนักศึกษาที่สำเร็จการศึกษาจากมหาวิทยาลัย Manchester ผลโหวตจาก 480 แห่ง (High Fliers 2006 - 2019)
